I had a little fun with fellow
ActiveRainer and Sacramento
Short-Sale Specialist, Elizabeth Weintraub, today. We
took in a few of the sights during Gold Rush Days in Old Sacramento,
before having.lunch at Joe's Crab Shack on the river. I had
to laugh when Elizabeth, quickly set her sights on a tee-shirt, which
expressed her present sentiments, "Bash ‘em in The
Head." It doesn't get much clearer than that!
Old Sacramento is always a delight to see, and tops the
list of things to do, for those visiting the Greater Sacramento
area. But each year during Gold Rush Days, Old Sacramento
turns back the clock, and more than 200 tons of dirt are dumped on the
streets. This year is no different, as
Sacramento's old historic district becomes transformed into its former
1850s self, and celebrates Gold Rush Days.
The event began Today, and will run through September 5th.
Musicians play gold rush era instruments. There are Wild West
gunfights, and costumed re-enactors are roaming the streets.
The Event is FREE!
Old Sacramento is the site of many festivals and special events
throughout the year. In addition to great restaurants and a
number of delightful tourist shops, visitors will find the California
State Railroad Museum, the Delta King
riverboat, the Old Sacramento Schoolhouse Museum, the Pony
Express Monument and the Wells Fargo History Museum.
Always fun and family friendly, if you are in the Greater Sacramento
Area, plan on visiting this lively four-day event and celebration.
